RAW SESH, Maya & Dylan.

Finally! After months of planning, I’m introducing my baby out into the world, The Raw Sesh. It’s something I’m deeply passionate about. It pushes my creativity and challenges my experience as a photographer. I’m so excited about this new journey for my business!

The realisation that the Raw Sesh could be a thing was when I captured a super intimate session with Danae and Talitha in Early 2021. Soon after I received a DM from Maya requesting to do something similar with her partner Dylan that was also on the spicy side. At this stage, the Raw Sesh was still a dream. I knew I wanted to introduce a new type of photo session out into the world… however, April was a few days away which meant I was entering a busy wedding season. Every month I thought about the Raw Sesh. I couldn’t get this idea off my mind. For a creative, this is a BIG sign. The drive, passion and excitement fueled me! I had to pursue it. While working around weddings I would contact Maya and we planned her Raw Sesh. We locked in a date and she booked an Airbnb in the Tablelands. The date would be Dylan’s birthday.

To make the Raw Sesh truly special I asked Maya; “What elements would you like to incorporate into your shoot to make it more unique to the two of you? Your dog? Your pickup truck? Band t-shirts you got on your first date? Beer or pizza? It was an easy answer from Maya and Dylan. As hospitality workers, they enjoy cooking dinner together. Surf & turf was their speciality! On the day they cooked up a killer meal of juicy steak and butter mushrooms. I had no idea what Dylan did to those mushrooms… but I was drooling for more. THIS is what the Raw Sesh is all about! For these two it was cooking. Maya’s happy dance when eating a steak with camembert cheese summed it up nicely.

They used the Raw Sesh as an opportunity to disconnect, explore waterfalls and celebrate. It was also about taking time to reflect, connect and do something they love. They drank wine, ate food, chilled around the Airbnb and it all finished in the bathtub.
