Styled Bridal Shoot
But Jason… What is a styled shoot? That’s a great question and I’m glad you asked! Let me break it down. A styled shoot is a collective, group effort between a variety of vendors coming together to produce a BEAUTIFUL mock wedding, or other grand event. It’s a group of vendors you would usually find at your traditional wedding. They use their own resources, time and money to create something amazing!
Dani from Events Makeup and Hair was the one inspired to do the Bridal Shoot. Dani created a mood board filled with images of bohemian models in wedding dresses, rugged styling and warm tones. The perfect location for this was Davies Creek, with its dry bush land and mountains. Next step… find a hair stylist, florist, event stylist, dress designer, grazing table creator and 3 models. Ohhhh boy!
After a few months of planning, searching for vendors and finding a location, we arrived at Davies Creek, Mareeba. The stylist created two totally different arbours and a picnic setup that blended with the surrounding landscape. The makeup, hair and florals all balanced so well with the models and their wedding dresses. I have to give a huge shoutout to Jonovia Bride and Design! They created a new dress designed with pockets a few days before the shoot. It was a massive hit. They allowed us to be experimental and not to worry about getting the dresses dirty… We planned to keep them clean.
We all celebrated near the end of the shoot by cracking open a few beers and digging into a Petal & Pinecones grazing platter, Yum! The shoot did welcome a few road bumps. We changed the setup location a few hours before the shoot, lost a model the day before from an injury and gained another on the same day of the shoot. However… when the time arrived, we rocked up, collaborated and kicked ass.
